Der Flüssigkeitsdruck wird mit Hilfe von Flüssigkeitssäulen in Rohren gemessen, entweder vertikal oder mit einer Neigung, die als Manometer bezeichnet werden. Die Höhe der Flüssigkeitssäule bestimmt die Druckdifferenz.
Das einfachste Manometer ist ein Piezometerrohr, das zur Druckmessung verwendet wird. Es handelt sich um ein vertikales Rohr, das oben offen und mit einem Behälter verbunden ist, wobei die gleiche Flüssigkeit verwendet wird, um den Druck im Rohr anzuzeigen.
Ein weiteres häufig verwendetes Manometer ist das U-Rohr-Manometer, das aus einem U-förmigen Rohr besteht, das mit der Flüssigkeitsquelle verbunden ist. Es enthält eine andere Flüssigkeit, die sogenannte Überdruckflüssigkeit, die sich nicht mit der Flüssigkeit vermischt, deren Druck gemessen wird.
Das Schrägrohrmanometer hat einen geneigten Schenkel, der Manometerflüssigkeit enthält, die sich nicht mit der gemessenen Flüssigkeit vermischt, und die Druckdifferenz wird entlang der Steigung abgelesen, um die Empfindlichkeit zu erhöhen.
U-Rohr- und Schrägrohrmanometer werden häufig verwendet, um die Druckdifferenz zwischen zwei Behältern oder Punkten innerhalb eines Systems zu messen.
Weitere Manometer sind das Bourdon-Manometer, das den Druck von Flüssigkeiten oder Gasen misst, und das Aneroid-Barometer, das den Atmosphärendruck misst.

Measurement of Fluid Pressure

Der Druck eines Fluids wird üblicherweise mit Geräten gemessen, die Manometer genannt werden und Flüssigkeitssäulen verwenden, um Druckunterschiede anzuzeigen. Die Höhe einer Flüssigkeitssäule in einem Manometer spiegelt den von dem Fluid ausgeübten Druck wider und stellt somit ein einfaches, aber effektives Messmittel dar. Verschiedene Arten von Manometern dienen je nach ihrer Konfiguration und der Art der beteiligten Flüssigkeiten bestimmten Zwecken.

Eine Grundform des Manometers ist das Piezometer, ein vertikales Rohr, das oben offen ist und mit derselben Flüssigkeit gefüllt ist, deren Druck gemessen wird. Bei Anschluss an einen Flüssigkeitsbehälter korreliert die Höhe der Flüssigkeit im Rohr direkt mit dem Druck im Behälter. Für komplexere Anwendungen verwendet das U-Rohr-Manometer ein U-förmiges Rohr, das mit einer Messflüssigkeit gefüllt ist, die sich nicht mit der zu messenden Flüssigkeit vermischt. Diese Anordnung ermöglicht Differenzdruckmessungen zwischen zwei Punkten.

Eine andere Variante ist das Schrägrohrmanometer, bei dem ein Schenkel geneigt ist. Dieser geneigte Schenkel erhöht die Empfindlichkeit, indem er die Messskala entlang der Neigung streckt, wodurch genaue Messwerte kleiner Druckunterschiede möglich sind.

Neben Manometern gibt es noch andere Werkzeuge zum Messen von Fluid- und Atmosphärendruck. Das Bourdon-Manometer wird beispielsweise häufig zum Messen von Gas- oder Flüssigkeitsdrücken in verschiedenen Industrieanwendungen eingesetzt, während das Aneroidbarometer den Luftdruck misst und häufig bei Wettervorhersagen und Höhenmessungen verwendet wird.

Fluid pressure is measured with manometers and related gauges. These tools use a liquid column to show pressure differences. The height of the column gives a simple reading of the force the fluid exerts.

A basic manometer is the piezometer. It is a vertical tube that is open at the top and filled with the same fluid being measured. When the tube connects to a container, the fluid height in the tube matches the pressure inside that container.

For more detailed measurements, the U-tube manometer is used. It has a U-shaped tube filled with a gauge fluid that does not mix with the fluid being measured. This setup is useful for measuring the pressure difference between two points.

The inclined-tube manometer is another form of manometer. One leg of the tube is tilted. This incline makes the scale stretch out, so it is easier to read very small pressure differences.

Other pressure tools are also used in practice. The Bourdon gauge measures gas or liquid pressure in many industrial settings. The aneroid barometer measures atmospheric pressure and is used in weather forecasting and altitude measurements.
