Ein fahrender Autofahrer folgt einem glatten Weg, der durch eine zeitabhängige Positionsfunktion beschrieben wird.Ziel ist es, die Position des Autofahrers zu bestimmen, die durch einen quadratischen Ausdruck modelliert wird, wenn sich die Zeit einem bestimmten Wert nähert, z. Using continuity to find limits is a simple way to evaluate a function near a specific input value. When a function is continuous at that point, the limit can often be found by direct substitution.

Direct substitution means replacing the variable with the value it approaches. The result gives the output value as the input nears that point. In a continuous function, the value near the point matches the value at the point.

Continuity means that small changes in the input lead to small, predictable changes in the output. It also means the graph has no sudden changes near the point being studied. Each part of the expression can be evaluated by plugging in the input value. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division help preserve continuity, as long as division by zero does not occur.
