Kinematic Equations - I

A nuestro alrededor, vemos muchos ejemplos de objetos que se mueven con aceleración constante donde la tasa de cambio de velocidad es la misma durante todo el movimiento. Por ejemplo, una bola que cae bajo la gravedad tiene una aceleración constante si se descuidan los efectos del aire.
El movimiento de los objetos con aceleración constante se aproxima mediante ecuaciones cinemáticas, también conocidas como ecuaciones de movimiento. Estas ecuaciones incluyen variables como el desplazamiento, la velocidad, la aceleración y el tiempo.
Recordemos que la aceleración es el cambio de velocidad con el tiempo. Ahora supongamos que un objeto comienza a moverse en un tiempo t1 igual a cero segundos con una velocidad inicial v0x, y después de un tiempo t2 igual a t segundos tiene una velocidad final vx.
Después de sustituir estas variables, el producto de la aceleración y el tiempo corresponde al cambio total de la velocidad en el tiempo t. Por lo tanto, la velocidad x en cualquier momento t viene dada por la suma de la velocidad inicial y el cambio en la velocidad x. Esta expresión para vx es la primera ecuación cinemática fundamental.

Cuando un objeto se mueve con aceleración constante, la velocidad del objeto cambia a una tasa constante durante todo el movimiento. Las ecuaciones cinemáticas de movimiento se derivan para casos en los que la aceleración del objeto es constante. La primera ecuación cinemática proporciona una visión de la relación entre velocidad, aceleración y tiempo. Podemos ver, por ejemplo:

 Todas estas observaciones se ajustan a nuestra intuición. Tenga en cuenta que siempre es útil examinar las ecuaciones básicas a la luz de nuestra intuición y experiencia para verificar que describen con precisión la naturaleza.

Velocity from constant acceleration shows how an object’s speed and direction change when the acceleration stays the same. The first kinematic equation connects initial velocity, acceleration, and time for motion with constant acceleration. It helps describe how velocity changes at a steady rate throughout the motion.

The equation matches common sense in several cases. If acceleration is zero, the final velocity is the same as the initial velocity, so the object keeps a constant velocity. If acceleration is negative, the final velocity is smaller than the initial velocity. These results show why it is useful to check equations against everyday intuition.

A plane landing gives a clear example. If an airplane starts at 70 m/s and slows down at 1.5 m/s^2 for 40 seconds, the first kinematic equation can be used to find the final velocity. Using the initial velocity, the constant deceleration, and the time, the final velocity is 10 m/s. This example shows how the equation can predict motion in a real situation.
