Le mouvement du projectile fait référence à la trajectoire d’un objet lancé dans les airs, influencée uniquement par la force de gravité. L’angle auquel le projectile est lancé est appelé angle de lancement.
Le mouvement du projectile a deux composantes indépendantes : le mouvement horizontal et le mouvement vertical.
Une fois que le projectile est en l’air, aucune autre force ne peut l’accélérer dans le sens horizontal.
En appliquant les équations cinématiques dans la direction horizontale, la vitesse horizontale du projectile reste constante tout au long de son vol.
L’ensemble du mouvement le long de la direction horizontale ne peut être décrit que par une seule équation.
À l’inverse, le mouvement vertical n’est influencé que par la force gravitationnelle. À l’aide des équations cinématiques, le mouvement de l’objet dans la direction verticale peut être étudié.
En calculant les composantes horizontales et verticales de la vitesse, on peut trouver la vitesse résultante de l’objet. La vitesse résultante est toujours tangentielle à la trajectoire du projectile.
La portée maximale du projectile dépend de la vitesse initiale, de l’angle de lancement et de l’accélération due à la gravité.

Le mouvement d’un projectile devient évident lorsqu'un joueur envoie le ballon en l'air. L'angle de lancement, ou l'angle auquel le ballon est frappé, joue un rôle crucial dans la détermination de la trajectoire du projectile. Lorsque la balle s'élève dans les airs, influencée uniquement par la gravité, son mouvement peut être divisé en deux composantes de vitesse indépendantes : horizontale et verticale.

Le mouvement horizontal, régi par le coup de pied initial, maintient une vitesse constante tout au long du vol du ballon. Les équations cinématiques appliquées dans la direction horizontale simplifient la description de l'ensemble de son mouvement avec une seule équation. En revanche, l'analyse du mouvement vertical du ballon, soumis uniquement à la force de gravité, peut se faire à l'aide d'équations cinématiques spécifiques à la direction verticale.

Le calcul des composantes horizontale et verticale de la vitesse du ballon permet de déterminer sa vitesse résultante, toujours tangente à la trajectoire du projectile. La portée maximale que la balle peut atteindre dépend de facteurs tels que la vitesse initiale, l'angle de lancement et l'accélération gravitationnelle agissant sur elle. Projectile motion in a soccer kick shows how a ball travels through the air after it is launched. The launch angle, which is the angle of the kick, plays a major role in shaping the path of the ball. Once the ball is in the air, gravity is the only force acting on it.

The ball’s motion can be split into two independent velocity components: horizontal and vertical. The horizontal motion comes from the initial kick and stays at a constant velocity during the flight. Kinematics equations in the horizontal direction can describe that part of the motion with one equation.

The vertical motion is affected only by gravity. Kinematics equations for the vertical direction are used to analyze that part of the path. When the horizontal and vertical components of velocity are calculated, the result is the ball’s resultant velocity, which is always tangent to the projectile’s path.

The maximum range of the ball depends on the initial speed, launch angle, and the acceleration due to gravity. In soccer, this makes projectile motion a clear example of the physics that controls how a kicked ball moves through the air.
