Kinematic Equations - I

Intorno a noi, vediamo molti esempi di oggetti che si muovono con accelerazione costante in cui la velocità di variazione della velocità è la stessa durante il movimento. Ad esempio, una palla che cade sotto la gravità ha un'accelerazione costante se gli effetti dell'aria vengono trascurati.
Il movimento degli oggetti con accelerazione costante è approssimato dalle equazioni cinematiche, note anche come equazioni del moto. Queste equazioni includono variabili come lo spostamento, la velocità, l'accelerazione e il tempo.
Ricordiamo che l'accelerazione è il cambiamento di velocità con il tempo. Supponiamo ora che un oggetto inizi a muoversi al tempo t1 uguale a zero secondi con una velocità iniziale v0x, e dopo un po' di tempo t2 uguale a t secondi ha una velocità finale vx.
Dopo aver sostituito queste variabili, il prodotto dell'accelerazione e del tempo corrisponde alla variazione totale della velocità nel tempo t. Quindi, la velocità x in qualsiasi momento t è data dalla somma della velocità iniziale e della variazione della velocità x. Questa espressione per vx è la prima equazione cinematica fondamentale.

La prima equazione cinematica da un'idea della relazione tra velocità, accelerazione e tempo. Possiamo vedere, per esempio:

	<li>La velocità finale dipende da quanto è grande e quanto dura l'accelerazione</li>
	<li>Se l'accelerazione è zero, allora come previsto la velocità finale è uguale a quella iniziale (in altre parole la velocità è costante)</li>
	<li>Se l'accelerazione è negativa, la velocità finale è minore di quella iniziale</li>
</ol>

Tutte queste osservazioni si adattano alla nostra intuizione. Si noti che è sempre utile esaminare le equazioni di base alla luce della nostra intuizione ed esperienza per verificare che descrivano accuratamente la natura.

Consideriamo un aeroplano che atterra ad una velocità di 70 m/s e decelera di 1,5 m/s2 per 40 secondi. La velocità finale dell'aeroplano può essere calcolata usando la prima equazione cinematica. Le grandezze note sono la velocità iniziale, la costante accelerazione (decelerazione), e il tempo. Sostituendo le grandezze conosciute nell'equazione:

Velocity from constant acceleration shows how an object’s speed and direction change when the acceleration stays the same. The first kinematic equation connects initial velocity, acceleration, and time for motion with constant acceleration. It helps describe how velocity changes at a steady rate throughout the motion.

The equation matches common sense in several cases. If acceleration is zero, the final velocity is the same as the initial velocity, so the object keeps a constant velocity. If acceleration is negative, the final velocity is smaller than the initial velocity. These results show why it is useful to check equations against everyday intuition.

A plane landing gives a clear example. If an airplane starts at 70 m/s and slows down at 1.5 m/s^2 for 40 seconds, the first kinematic equation can be used to find the final velocity. Using the initial velocity, the constant deceleration, and the time, the final velocity is 10 m/s. This example shows how the equation can predict motion in a real situation.
