Free-falling Bodies: Example

Ricordiamo che quando un oggetto cade verso il suolo ed è influenzato solo dalla gravità, si dice che è in caduta libera. Sotto la gravità terrestre, un oggetto cade con un'accelerazione costante, nota come accelerazione dovuta alla gravità.
Le equazioni cinematiche per l'accelerazione costante vengono utilizzate per risolvere i problemi dei corpi in caduta libera.
Ad esempio, una pietra viene lasciata cadere liberamente dalla cima di una scogliera in un fiume. Quale sarà la sua posizione e velocità dopo 5 secondi?
Le grandezze note sono la posizione iniziale, la velocità iniziale, l'accelerazione dovuta alla gravità e il tempo.
Considerando la coordinata verticale dell'asse y, la cima della scogliera è l'origine e la direzione verso l'alto è negativa. Le quantità incognite sono la posizione e la velocità della pietra dopo 5 secondi.

corpi in caduta libera: esempio

Un oggetto che cade sotto l'influenza della forza di gravità e senza nessuna resistenza dell'aria è detto in caduta libera. Per i corpi in caduta libera, l'accelerazione causata dalla gravità è costante, indipendente dalla loro massa. La caduta libera viene sperimentata non solo da oggetti che cadono verso il basso, ma anche da tutti gli oggetti il cui moto è influenzato dalla sola forza di gravità. Le dinamiche del moto in caduta libera possono essere calcolate usando le equazioni cinematiche del moto, visto che l'accelerazione in caduta libera è costante.

L'accelerazione è sperimentata da tutti gli oggetti in caduta libera è costante; pertanto, due oggetti qualsiasi caduti dallo stesso luogo e altezza sulla Terra cadranno al suolo alla stessa velocità, a condizione che la resistenza dell'aria venga trascurata. Similmente, se due oggetti cadono in successione, allora il tempo richiesto loro per raggiungere il suolo sarà lo stesso. Tuttavia, la velocità dell'oggetto caduto per primo sarà sempre maggiore di quello caduto per secondo.

Gravity-driven free fall motion is the motion of an object when gravity is the only force acting on it and air resistance is absent. In this case, the object is in free-fall. The acceleration due to gravity stays constant, no matter how much the object weighs.

Free-fall is not limited to objects moving straight down. It also includes motion that is affected only by gravity. Because the acceleration is constant, the motion can be described with kinematic equations.

Objects dropped from the same height and location on Earth will reach the ground at the same speed if air resistance is neglected. If two objects are dropped one after the other, they will take the same time to fall. The object released first will still have a greater velocity than the object released later.

Free-fall appears in many real situations. Examples include skydiving and bungee jumping, a meteoroid moving toward Earth’s center, a spacecraft in Earth’s orbit, and the projectile motion of an object in two-dimensional space.
