Projectile Motion

Quando un oggetto viene lanciato con una certa velocità iniziale ad angolo rispetto al suolo, si muove in un percorso parabolico a causa della gravità. L'oggetto è chiamato proiettile e il percorso che segue è chiamato traiettoria.
La distanza orizzontale coperta dal proiettile è chiamata Gittata, mentre l'altezza massima raggiunta dal proiettile è nota come zenit della traiettoria.
Il movimento del proiettile può essere considerato indipendente lungo le direzioni orizzontale e verticale.

Un oggetto lanciato in aria sotto l'influenza della forza gravitazionale della Terra segue un percorso parabolico. Il movimento di quest'oggetto è chiamato moto parabolico, e l'oggetto viene definito proiettile. Il percorso parabolico seguito dal proiettile è chiamato traiettoria. Quando un oggetto cade a causa della gravità e non si muove orizzontalmente, il moto è detto parabolico unidimensionale. Projectile motion describes the path of an object thrown into the air under Earth’s gravity. The object is called a projectile, and its curved path is called the trajectory. This motion appears in many real situations, such as fireworks, a golf ball in flight, meteors entering Earth’s atmosphere, and bullets being fired.

When a falling object has no horizontal movement, it is described as one-dimensional projectile motion. When motion includes both horizontal and vertical parts, it is two-dimensional projectile motion. The two perpendicular directions are independent, so they can be studied separately.

Air resistance is generally neglected when deriving two-dimensional projectile motion equations. For analysis, the origin is usually placed at the launch point. Because gravity always acts downward, the horizontal acceleration stays zero throughout the path, while the vertical velocity becomes zero at the highest point. This axis choice makes projectile motion easier to solve and is widely used.
