Quando un uomo tira o spinge una scatola, questa si muove in direzione orizzontale. La trazione o la spinta esercitata sulla scatola che ne provoca il movimento è nota come forza. È una grandezza vettoriale espressa in newton.
Le forze che agiscono sui corpi possono essere classificate come forze esterne e interne. Quando la forza applicata esternamente su un corpo crea un effetto, si parla di forza esterna, mentre le forze di reazione esistenti all'interno del corpo sono note come forze interne.
Il principio di trasmissibilità afferma che se il punto di applicazione di una forza su un corpo cambia ma rimane nella stessa linea d'azione, la forza risultante sul corpo non cambia.
Consideriamo due forze che agiscono su un corpo rigido. Secondo il principio di trasmissibilità, il corpo rimane inalterato se le forze che agiscono sul corpo si trovano nella stessa linea d'azione, anche se agiscono in punti diversi.
Poiché queste forze sono uguali e opposte, la loro somma è uguale a zero e la forza risultante sul corpo rimane invariata.

introduzione alla forza

Immaginiamo dell'acqua che scorre da un ugello verso la pala di una turbina. Quando l'acqua colpisce la pala, esercita una forza che la fa muovere lungo la direzione del flusso. La forza è un impatto che modifica il movimento, la forma o l'orientamento di un oggetto. Le forze possono essere causate da contatto fisico, come una spinta o una trazione, o da interazioni senza contatto, come le forze magnetiche o gravitazionali. La forza è una grandezza vettoriale con intensità e direzione e si misura in newton (N) nel sistema SI di unità di misura. Consideriamo un oggetto con una massa di 1 kg che si muove in avanti con un'accelerazione di 1m/s2. In questo caso, la forza applicata all'oggetto è uguale a 1 N.

In meccanica, le forze esterne e le forze interne sono due tipi di forze che agiscono su un corpo rigido preso in considerazione, causando effetti esterni e interni. Gli effetti esterni sono le forze reattive che il corpo esercita sull’ambiente circostante a causa di forze esterne come il peso del corpo, le forze applicate dalle persone e le forze di attrito. Gli effetti interni sono le forze interne e le deformazioni che si verificano all'interno del materiale del corpo. Si consideri ad esempio una staffa soggetta a una forza esterna. Gli effetti esterni di questa forza sulla staffa sono le forze reattive che la base e i bulloni esercitano sulla staffa. Gli effetti interni della forza sulla staffa sono le sollecitazioni interne e le deformazioni che si verificano all'interno del materiale della staffa. Le forze e le deformazioni interne sono distribuite in tutto il materiale della staffa e dipendono dalle proprietà del materiale e dalle geometrie del corpo.

Il principio di trasmissibilità è un concetto che spiega gli effetti dello spostamento del punto di applicazione di una forza applicata lungo la stessa linea di azione. Il principio afferma che se una forza viene applicata a un corpo rigido e il punto di applicazione di quella forza cambia ma rimane sulla stessa linea di azione, la forza risultante che agisce sul corpo rimane invariata. Si considerino due forze uguali che agiscono su un corpo rigido da punti diversi. Secondo il principio di trasmissibilità, le forze che agiscono sul corpo sono sulla stessa linea di azione, rendendole equivalenti a una singola forza che agisce su un punto particolare. Quando il punto di applicazione di queste forze cambia o si sposta lungo la stessa linea di azione, la forza risultante sul corpo rimane la stessa, poiché è la stessa forza che agisce sulla stessa linea di azione.

Force changes the motion, shape, or orientation of an object. A flowing stream of water can push on a turbine vane and make it move in the direction of the flow. In mechanics, force is treated as a vector quantity, which means it has both magnitude and direction. It is measured in newtons, or N, in the SI unit system.

Forces can act through direct contact or without contact. A push or pull is a contact force. Magnetic and gravitational forces are examples of non-contact interactions. For an object with a mass of 1 kg that accelerates at 1 m/s2, the applied force is 1 N.

When a rigid body is under load, mechanics separates the effects into external forces and internal forces. External forces produce the reactive forces that the body exerts on its surroundings. These can include body weight, forces applied by people, and frictional forces. Internal effects are the stresses and deformations that develop inside the material.

A bracket loaded by an external force shows both kinds of effects. The foundation and bolts react to the force on the bracket. At the same time, internal stresses and deformations spread through the bracket material. These internal forces depend on the material properties and the shape of the body.

The principle of transmissibility explains what happens when the point of application of a force moves along the same line of action. If the force stays on that line, the resultant force on a rigid body does not change. Two equal forces on a rigid body can therefore be treated as a single equivalent force when they act along the same line of action.
