Gli elettrodi tissutali negli elettrocardiogrammi (E-C-G) stabiliscono un percorso conduttivo per le correnti elettriche tra i tessuti e gli elettrodi di misurazione, consentendo l'osservazione dell'attività cardiaca.
La dinamica dell'interfaccia elettrodo-tessuto ha un modello circuitale che comprende la resistenza dell'elettrodo, la capacità all'interfaccia elettrodo-tessuto e la resistenza del tessuto. La differenza di potenziale rappresenta la differenza di tensione tra l'elettrodo e il tessuto.
Qui, l'impedenza di ingresso è uguale alla resistenza del tessuto. L'impedenza di uscita è l'aggiunta della resistenza del tessuto alla combinazione parallela di resistenza e capacità all'interfaccia elettrodo-tessuto.
Il rapporto tra il fasore di uscita e il fasore di ingresso, calcolato utilizzando i valori noti di resistenza e capacità, è la funzione di trasferimento.
Questo può essere approssimato su tre gamme di frequenza distinte.
Il grafico della magnitudo di Bode su un grafico semilogaritmico rappresenta il guadagno logaritmico calcolato in decibel rispetto alla frequenza in radianti al secondo.
Gli asintoti a bassa e alta frequenza sono linee orizzontali con un guadagno costante. Nell'intervallo di frequenza intermedio, il grafico di magnitudine asintotica è lineare con una pendenza di 20 decibel per decennio.

Il diagramma di Bode è uno strumento essenziale nell'analisi dei sistemi di controllo, poiché mappa la risposta in frequenza di un sistema attraverso un diagramma di ampiezza e un diagramma di fase, entrambi rispetto ad un asse di frequenza logaritmico. Per costruire un diagramma di Bode, consideriamo la funzione di trasferimento H(ω):

La funzione ha guadagno, zeri e poli costanti. Dopo aver normalizzato la funzione di trasferimento, si può scrivere come:

Ogni termine in questa funzione normalizzata influenza distintamente il diagramma di Bode. Il termine 10jω ha guadagno costante pari a 10 e zero nell'origine jω. Ogni termine polare semplice (1+jω/ω_i) introduce un punto di interruzione o frequenza angolare ω_i. La pendenza positiva dello zero è evidente dall'origine, mentre le pendenze negative dei poli iniziano alle loro frequenze d'angolo, rispettivamente ω=2 e ω=10.

Una volta identificato il contributo individuale di ciascun termine, è possibile costruire il diagramma di Bode complessivo. Ciò comporta la sovrapposizione delle pendenze e dei cambiamenti di fase di ciascun fattore. Alle basse frequenze, il grafico della magnitudo inizia a 20 dB (poiché 20log_10(10) =20) e mantiene una risposta piatta fino alla prima frequenza d'angolo. Il diagramma di fase inizia a 90° a causa dello zero nell'origine e inizia la sua discesa prima della prima frequenza d'angolo.



La pendenza del grafico della magnitudo cambierà ad ogni frequenza d'angolo, diminuendo di 20 dB/decade a ω=2 e di nuovo a ω=10. Di conseguenza, il diagramma di fase si piegherà verso il basso, avvicinandosi a -90° ad una frequenza molto superiore a ω=10.



Infine, il diagramma asintotico di Bode, che consiste di queste linee rette, può essere regolato per approssimare più da vicino la risposta in frequenza effettiva. Ciò comporta l'aggiunta di una curva uniforme che interseca il grafico asintotico a ciascuna frequenza d'angolo, determinando in genere un leggero superamento vicino alle frequenze d'angolo, noto come picco.

Bode plots show the frequency response of a system with a magnitude plot and a phase plot. Both plots use a logarithmic frequency axis. In control system analysis, this makes it easier to see how a transfer function changes with frequency.

To build a Bode plot, start with the transfer function H(ω). After normalization, the function includes constant gain, zeros, and poles. Each term affects the plot in a different way.

A constant gain of 10 gives a starting magnitude of 20 dB, since 20 log10(10) = 20. The term 10jω also creates a zero at the origin, so the magnitude has a positive slope from the start. Each simple pole term, such as 1 + jω/ωi, adds a breakpoint or corner frequency ωi.

The zero at the origin gives the phase plot an initial value of 90°. The phase then begins to fall before the first corner frequency. The poles at ω = 2 and ω = 10 add negative slope changes to the magnitude plot, each reducing the slope by 20 dB per decade at its corner frequency.

The full Bode plot comes from adding the effects of each factor together. At low frequencies, the magnitude stays flat until the first corner frequency. The phase curve bends downward and approaches -90° at a frequency much higher than ω = 10.

The first result is an asymptotic Bode plot made of straight-line segments. A smoother curve can then be added to match the actual frequency response more closely. This adjustment often crosses the asymptotic lines near each corner frequency and can show a small peak, called peaking.
