Il movimento del proiettile si riferisce al percorso di un oggetto lanciato in aria, influenzato solo dalla forza di gravità. L'angolo con cui viene lanciato il proiettile è chiamato angolo di lancio.
Il movimento del proiettile ha due componenti indipendenti: movimento orizzontale e verticale.
Una volta che il proiettile è in aria, nessun'altra forza può accelerarlo in direzione orizzontale.
Applicando le equazioni cinematiche in direzione orizzontale, la velocità orizzontale del proiettile rimane costante durante il suo volo.
L'intero movimento lungo la direzione orizzontale può essere descritto da una sola equazione.
Al contrario, il movimento verticale è influenzato solo dalla forza gravitazionale. Utilizzando le equazioni cinematiche, è possibile studiare il movimento dell'oggetto in direzione verticale.
Calcolando le componenti orizzontali e verticali della velocità, è possibile trovare la velocità risultante dell'oggetto. La velocità risultante è sempre tangenziale al percorso del proiettile.
La portata massima del proiettile dipende dalla velocità iniziale, dall'angolo di lancio e dall'accelerazione dovuta alla gravità.

Il movimento del proiettile diventa evidente quando un giocatore calcia una palla in aria. L'angolo di lancio, ovvero l'angolo con cui viene calciata la palla, gioca un ruolo cruciale nel determinare la traiettoria del proiettile. Mentre la palla vola nell'aria, influenzata esclusivamente dalla gravità, il suo movimento può essere suddiviso in due componenti di velocità indipendenti: orizzontale e verticale.

Il movimento orizzontale, governato dal calcio iniziale, mantiene una velocità costante durante tutto il volo del pallone. Le equazioni cinematiche applicate nella direzione orizzontale semplificano la descrizione dell'intero movimento con un'unica equazione. Projectile motion in a soccer kick shows how a ball travels through the air after it is launched. The launch angle, which is the angle of the kick, plays a major role in shaping the path of the ball. Once the ball is in the air, gravity is the only force acting on it.

The ball’s motion can be split into two independent velocity components: horizontal and vertical. The horizontal motion comes from the initial kick and stays at a constant velocity during the flight. Kinematics equations in the horizontal direction can describe that part of the motion with one equation.

The vertical motion is affected only by gravity. Kinematics equations for the vertical direction are used to analyze that part of the path. When the horizontal and vertical components of velocity are calculated, the result is the ball’s resultant velocity, which is always tangent to the projectile’s path.

The maximum range of the ball depends on the initial speed, launch angle, and the acceleration due to gravity. In soccer, this makes projectile motion a clear example of the physics that controls how a kicked ball moves through the air.
