Il carico asimmetrico viene medicato applicando il carico al centro di taglio della sezione trasversale dell'asta. Il centro di taglio è un punto specifico all'interno della sezione trasversale in cui, se viene applicato un carico, causerà solo la flessione, eliminando così la possibilità di torsione.
