反応の速度の法則は、反応物濃度と反応速度の関係を定義します。濃度は温度に依存しないため、温度に応じた反応速度に影響を与えるのは速度定数のみが残ります。したがって、1889年にスウェーデンの化学者スバンテ・アレニウスは、反応速度の温度依存性は速度定数に含まれると結論付けました。
