Gravitational and Elastic Energy Stored

Gravitational and elastic potential energy are forms of stored energy from conservative forces. A conservative force, such as gravity or an elastic force, gives a body the capacity to do work. This capacity is measured as potential energy and depends on the body’s position relative to a fixed reference point, or datum.

重力ポテンシャルエネルギー変化は、重力ポテンシャルエネルギーがゼロと見なされる基準位置またはデータムから物体を特定の位置に持って行く際に、その重量と等しく反対の力によって物体に対して行われる仕事の負です。

体を持ち上げると、重力によって行われる仕事は負であるため、その位置エネルギーが増加します。体を下に動かすと、逆が観察されます。
