発射体運動とは、重力のみの影響を受けて空中に打ち上げられる物体の経路を指します。発射体が発射される角度は、発射角度と呼ばれます。
発射体の動きには、水平方向と垂直方向の2つの独立した要素があります。
発射体が空中に浮かぶと、他の力は水平方向に加速することはできません。
運動学方程式を水平方向に適用すると、発射体の水平速度は飛行中ずっと一定のままです。
水平方向に沿った全体の運動は、1つの方程式だけで表すことができます。
逆に、垂直方向の動きは重力の影響を受けるだけです。運動方程式を使用して、垂直方向のオブジェクトの動きを調べることができます。
速度の水平成分と垂直成分を計算すると、オブジェクトの結果の速度を見つけることができます。結果として得られる速度は、常に発射体の経路に接します。
発射体の最大射程は、初速度、発射角度、重力による加速度によって異なります。

Projectile motion in a soccer kick shows how a ball travels through the air after it is launched. The launch angle, which is the angle of the kick, plays a major role in shaping the path of the ball. Once the ball is in the air, gravity is the only force acting on it.

The ball’s motion can be split into two independent velocity components: horizontal and vertical. The horizontal motion comes from the initial kick and stays at a constant velocity during the flight. Kinematics equations in the horizontal direction can describe that part of the motion with one equation.

The vertical motion is affected only by gravity. Kinematics equations for the vertical direction are used to analyze that part of the path. When the horizontal and vertical components of velocity are calculated, the result is the ball’s resultant velocity, which is always tangent to the projectile’s path.

The maximum range of the ball depends on the initial speed, launch angle, and the acceleration due to gravity. In soccer, this makes projectile motion a clear example of the physics that controls how a kicked ball moves through the air.
