Camila Kehl

Camila is a biomedical scientist with a PhD in biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS – Porto Alegre – Brazil). She has been involved in cancer research since 2016, having worked mainly with acute leukemias. During her PhD and master’s she studied leukemia stem cell immunophenotypes and immunometabolism, aiming to improve prognostication and risk-stratification. Having been on academic stays in the Czech Republic (Czech Academy of Sciences), Uruguay (Universidad de la República) and Canada (Centre de recherche Azrieli du CHU Sainte-Justine) she has extensive research experience and understanding of the global academic community. As a Science Editor at JoVE, she hopes to keep contributing to the scientific community from a new perspective. In her free time, Camila enjoys knitting, hiking, doing yoga, and spending time with her dog Banzé.
