Madhurima Paul, Ph.D.

Madhurima is a passionate biomedical researcher with experience in cancer biology, placental biology, molecular signalling and translational research. She completed her BSc & MSc in Biochemistry from University of Calcutta, India. She holds a PhD degree in Biochemistry from University of Calcutta, India and her research focussed on investigating cross-talks between the Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase (MAPK) pathway and the DNA damage sensing machinery in S. pombe . Following her doctoral study, she pursued her first post-doctoral research from CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology from the department of Cell Biology & Physiology and her fellowship was awarded by the prestigious DBT research associateship programme. Her post-doctoral study on one hand established the role of a novel protein NOSTRIN in negatively regulating colon cancer progression; and on the other hand deciphered the implications of trans differentiation of trophoblast stem cells in placental biology. She did her second post-doctoral study from the department of Hematopathology, Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education (ACTREC) under Tata Memorial Centre, Navi Mumbai, India. Here, her research focussed on developing precision immunotherapy strategies tailored for value-based lung cancer treatment in India. She has also completed an advanced program in Clinical Research and Management to better understand clinical operations and translation applications. She loves travelling and exploring new places. madhurima.paul@jove.com
