Somi Patranabis, Ph.D.

Somi Patranabis holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, where her research focused on the role of non-coding RNAs and P-bodies in regulating neuronal survival and differentiation. She has over eight years of experience in teaching and research in the biological sciences, with expertise in cell and molecular biology. She worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Bose Institute, Kolkata, investigating gene regulation in extremophiles, and later served as an Assistant Professor at Amity University, Kolkata. Beyond her professional work, Somi enjoys cultivating wellness through yoga, meditation, and mindful nutrition. She is also passionate about photography and traveling, interests that allow her to express creativity and maintain a holistic approach to well-being.
