“Prof. Yunpeng Hua is a professor of Liver Surgery at First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. His main research interests are in conventional surgeries, laparoscopic/minimally invasive operations, choledochoscopy, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). His work is focused on the mechanism of hepatocellular carcinoma initiation and progression, including tumor microenviroment, hepatic stellate cells, tumor immunology, and the gut microbiota. He has led seven research programs funded by national and provincial government. Prof. Hua is the chairman of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy MDT (Multi-disciplinary Team) Committee of Guangdong Health Management Association, executive vice chairman of Younger Branch of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Committee of Guangdong Medical Association, and vice chairman of Younger Branch of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Committee of Guangdong Anti-Cancer Association, Kelin New Star of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, Outstanding Young Medical Talents of Guangdong Province (2018), HURUN REPORT. He has received awards such as Chinese PING’AN good doctor (2018), LingNan famous doctor of Guangdong Province (2019 and 2020), etc.”
