The Staircase Procedure for Finding a Perceptual Threshold

1. Estímulos e Equipamentos
<ol><li>Este experimento exigirá um computador com software experimental básico, bem como um conjunto de fones de ouvido e uma sala de testes relativamente silenciosa (a prova de som não é necessária).</li>
	<li>Os estímulos no experimento serão tons de com frequências de 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 3 kHz, 4 kHz, 5 kHz e 6 kHz. A audição humana é melhor dentro dessa faixa de frequência.</li>
	<li>Durante o experimento, o volume dos tons será variado adaptativamente na faixa de 1 a 40 dB, como ficará claro no contexto do desenho experimental, a fim de medir o volume mínimo perceptível em cada uma das seis frequências.</li>
</ol>2. Design
<ol><li>O experimento envolverá seis blocos, um para cada uma das seis frequências. Isso ocorre porque os limiares humanos não são os mesmos para todas as frequências. Em outras palavras, o limiar será medido independentemente para cada uma das seis frequências. Assim, o projeto a seguir produzirá seis programas de teste.</li>

3. Procedimento
