Instantaneous Velocity - I

A velocidade média de um objeto não pode nos dizer com que rapidez ou em que direção o objeto estava se movendo em um determinado momento. Para identificar isso, precisamos da velocidade em um instante específico de tempo ou da velocidade instantânea.
A velocidade instantânea é o limite da velocidade média à medida que o intervalo de tempo se aproxima de zero, ou a derivada de x em relação a t. Aqui, a variável x é usada para descrever a posição de um objeto ao longo de um movimento unidimensional. A velocidade instantânea é uma quantidade vetorial, e o símbolo vx é usado para velocidade instantânea ao longo da direção x.
O sinal da velocidade instantânea é o mesmo que o sinal de Δx, pois o tempo é sempre considerado positivo. Por exemplo, se x aumenta e o movimento está na direção x positiva, isso implica um valor positivo de velocidade instantânea. Da mesma forma, se x diminui e o movimento está na direção x negativa, a velocidade instantânea tem um valor negativo.

Instantaneous velocity describes how fast an object is moving at a specific instant. It gives the motion of a particle at one point in time or at one point along its path. Average velocity over a time interval cannot show this level of detail.

Instantaneous velocity, often written as v x , is the limit of average velocity as the elapsed time approaches zero. It can also be found as the derivative of x with respect to t . Like average velocity, it is a vector with dimensions of length per unit of time.

The sign of instantaneous velocity tells the direction of motion. A positive value means x is increasing, so the motion is in the positive x - direction. A negative value means x is decreasing, so the motion is in the negative x - direction.

Instantaneous speed is the magnitude of instantaneous velocity. A particle moving at -10 m/s and a particle moving at +10 m/s have the same instantaneous speed. However, they are moving in opposite directions.
