Ohm's Law

Em 1827, um físico alemão, Georg Simon Ohm, demonstrou a lei de Ohm experimentalmente.
A lei de Ohm afirma que a corrente que passa por um material é diretamente proporcional à tensão através do dispositivo sob condições constantes de ambiente.
Qualquer material que obedeça à lei de Ohm é conhecido como material ôhmico, enquanto que se não obedecer à lei de Ohm, é conhecido como material não ôhmico.
Considere outra configuração experimental para demonstrar a lei de Ohm, consistindo em um resistor, fonte de alimentação, interruptor, voltímetro e amperímetro. A tensão no resistor é medida usando um voltímetro, enquanto a corrente alinhada com o resistor é medida usando um amperímetro.
Quando o resistor é conectado à fonte de alimentação, a corrente flui no sentido horário e o voltímetro e o amperímetro mostram leituras positivas. Por outro lado, quando os fios da fonte de alimentação são comutados, a corrente flui no sentido anti-horário, resultando em leituras negativas.

Qualquer material ou componente que não obedeça à lei de Ohm é conhecido como material ou componente não ôhmico. Em um artigo publicado em 1827, Georg Ohm descreveu um experimento no qual ele mediu a tensão através de vários circuitos elétricos simples contendo vários comprimentos de fio. O experimento foi usado para observar a corrente, através de um resistor, que é resultante de uma tensão aplicada.

Outro experimento similar foi usado para observar a corrente através de um resistor, corrente resultante de uma tensão aplicada. Neste circuito simples, um resistor é conectado em série com uma bateria. A tensão é medida com um voltímetro, que é colocado em paralelo com o resistor. A corrente é medida usando um amperímetro e é colocado em série com o resistor. Várias medições da corrente foram realizadas para várias tensões diferentes. A corrente através do resistor e a tensão através do resistor foram medidas, e um gráfico foi traçado entre a tensão e a corrente, mostrando uma relação aproximadamente linear. Ohm's law describes the relationship between current, voltage, and resistance in many materials. In these cases, the current through a substance is directly proportional to the voltage applied to it. The idea was first shown experimentally by German physicist Georg Simon Ohm, who studied current in a metal wire.

A material, component, or device that follows this pattern is called ohmic. An ohmic component has a current that increases in step with voltage. A material or component that does not follow this pattern is called nonohmic.

Ohm's 1827 experiment measured voltage across and current through simple electrical circuits with different wire lengths. The setup used a resistor connected in series with a battery. A voltmeter measured voltage in parallel with the resistor, and an ammeter measured current in series with the resistor.

Several measurements were taken at different voltages. The current through the resistor and the voltage across it were then graphed. The result was an approximately linear relationship. The slope of that line represents resistance, which is voltage divided by current, and this result became known as Ohm's law.
