A condi&#231;&#227;o fundamental para a aplica&#231;&#227;o do teorema &#233; que a fun&#231;&#227;o em quest&#227;o deve sempre permanecer maior ou igual a um limite inferior e menor ou igual a um limite superior no entorno do ponto considerado. Se ambos os limites tenderem para o mesmo valor, a fun&#231;&#227;o intermedi&#225;ria &#233; determinada a compartilhar esse comportamento limite, independentemente de sua complexidade interna. Using bounds to find a limit is the main idea behind the Squeeze Theorem. It helps when a function changes in a way that makes direct limit evaluation difficult. Some functions may oscillate quickly or follow irregular patterns near a specific input value.

The theorem works by placing the function between two other functions near that point. The function must stay greater than or equal to a lower bound and less than or equal to an upper bound. If both outer functions approach the same limit as the input gets closer to the point, the function in the middle must approach that same limit too.

This converging behavior narrows the range of possible values for the trapped function. As the boundaries move toward the same number, the intermediate function is forced toward that number as well. The Squeeze Theorem is especially useful for limits that are hard to approach with standard methods because the function behaves erratically.
