Soil Nutrient Analysis: Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium

	<li>Плотно закройте цилиндр и энергично встряхивайте в течение 10 с.</li>
	<li>Дайте раствору постоять 3 минуты, пока не разовьется белое помутнение. </li>

Определение концентрации питательных веществ для нитратов, фосфатов и калия может показать, как почва функционирует с точки зрения ее предполагаемого использования и как питательные вещества циркулируют через почву. Тест на питательные вещества предоставляет отчет о средней концентрации питательных веществ (мг/л) для всех тестируемых питательных веществ. В сельскохозяйственных условиях знание концентрации питательных веществ может помочь производителям продуктов питания узнать, когда добавлять удобрения, сколько добавлять, какие питательные вещества нужно добавлять и в каком количестве. Почвы с постоянно высоким содержанием азота, например, будут хороши для выращивания требовательных к азоту культур, таких как соя и кукуруза. Высокий уровень азота также особенно полезен для нецветущих растений, потому что азот необходим для любой зеленой части растений. Однако высокий уровень азота может подавить цветение, если он остается выше уровня фосфора. Фосфор контролирует цветение растений и важен для любого растениеводства, включающего цветущие или плодоносящие растения, а фосфор часто добавляют в почву или непосредственно в растения до и во время этапов жизненного цикла цветения и плодоношения для повышения урожайности сельскохозяйственных культур при увеличении размера урожая и увеличении количества плодов с одного растения. Калий участвует в катализе многих химических реакций, необходимых для поддержания жизни растений, включая устойчивость к засухе и регулирование влажности. Почвы с низким содержанием калия, вероятно, придется орошать, если внесение удобрений в почву невозможно. Концентрация питательных веществ также может сообщать о недостатке или избытке питательных веществ, которые могут нанести вред росту растений. Если содержание питательных веществ слишком высокое, можно внести изменения для уменьшения избытка, например, добавить мульчу или обработать почву. Почва с низким содержанием питательных веществ также может иметь более применимое применение для землеустроителей в рекреационных или застроенных помещениях (мощеные поверхности или строительство зданий).

При химической изоляции из почвы питательные вещества могут быть обнаружены с помощью этого метода. Азот и фосфор, обычно встречающиеся в форме нитратов и фосфатов, экстрагируются с помощью химического экстрагента, который связывает интересующее питательное вещество. После извлечения из почвы каждое питательное вещество может быть объединено с известным реагентом, который вызывает изменение цвета питательного вещества на специфический для питательного вещества цвет в линейной взаимосвязи, при этом более темный цвет указывает на повышенную концентрацию питательного вещества. Для анализа концентрации каждого питательного вещества будет использоваться химический реагент для окрашивания каждого образца с увеличением интенсивности цвета, указывающей на повышенную концентрацию питательного вещества.
В испытаниях нитратов высокого и среднего диапазона, металлический кадмий используется для восстановления нитратов (NO3-) до нитритов (NO2-). Кадмий содержится в покупных порошковых подушках Nitraver 5 (высокого и среднего диапазона) и Nitraver 6 (низкого диапазона).
 NO3- + Cd + 2 H+ → NO2- + Cd2+ + H2O 
Затем ионы нитритов вступают в реакцию с сульфаниловой кислотой (в кислой среде, содержащейся в порошке NitraVer 5) с образованием промежуточной соли диазония. При соединении с гентизиновой кислотой (также содержащейся в NitraVer 5) образуется раствор янтарного цвета. Интенсивность цвета этого соединения прямо пропорциональна концентрации нитратов в образце воды и может быть количественно определена с помощью бокса-компаратора цвета нитратов с диском непрерывного нитратного янтарного цвета.
Для фосфора, молидата натрия и пиросульфата калия в покупном порошке реагента ФосВер 3 реагируют с растворимыми реактивными фосфатами с образованием фосфо-молибдатного комплекса.
 H2PO4- + 12 Na2MoO4 + → PMo12O403-
Затем комплекс восстанавливается аскорбиновой кислотой (также содержащейся в порошке PhosVer 3) с образованием молибденового синего цвета. Синий цвет количественно определяется с помощью компаратора фосфатного цвета с диском непрерывного фосфатно-синего цвета.
Для этого метода используется блок сравнения цвета. Этот инструмент работает на основе известных интенсивностей цвета для каждой концентрации в диапазоне от 0 до 50 мг/л. Цветной диск на коробке поворачивается до тех пор, пока цвет в обоих окнах просмотра (пустом и образце) не совпадет. Как только цвета будут совпадать, соответствующая концентрация питательных веществ (мг/л) будет отображаться в отдельном нижнем окне на поле сравнения цветов. Эти ящики достаточно прочны, чтобы их можно было использовать со студентами любого уровня вплоть до вводных курсов колледжа, и их можно легко транспортировать как часть комплекта для полевых испытаний почвы, который можно использовать в месте отбора проб. Эти методы позволяют проводить базовое тестирование питательных веществ в классной лаборатории, не требуя дорогостоящего оборудования, которое может быть недоступно. Для обеспечения точности испытаний стандартные растворы нитратов и фосфатов могут использоваться вместо образца в процедурах перед отправкой на полевую площадку или началом анализа образцов почвы в лаборатории.
В тестах калия ионы калия соединяются с тетрафенилборатом натрия, содержащимся в купленном порошке реагента калия 3, образуя тетрафенилборат калия, белый осадок. Осадок остается во взвешенном состоянии в образцах, вызывая увеличение мутности.
 NO3- + Cd + 2 H+ NaB(C6H5)4 + K+ → KB(C6H5)4 + Na+
Щуп для измерения калия используется для количественной оценки количества мутности, которая преобразуется в концентрацию калия. Щуп имеет черную точку на одном конце, которая помещается в образец до тех пор, пока точка не перестанет быть видимой сквозь белый осадок. Soil fertility can be measured by testing the macronutrients nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These three nutrients are major parts of soil fertilizer, and their levels help show how well soil can support plant growth.

The experiment uses chemical extraction to pull each nutrient out of the soil and into a solution. Color-based reagents are then added to the extracted samples. The nutrients are analyzed by color and turbidity, which is the cloudiness of a solution, to estimate how much of each nutrient is present.

These test results can reveal a nutrient deficiency or a nutrient surplus in soil used for plant production. They also give environmental scientists useful information about basic biogeochemical cycles in an ecosystem. By measuring nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, the analysis helps connect soil chemistry to plant growth and environmental health.
