Non-uniform Circular Motion

Величина и направление общего ускорения изменяются в зависимости от скорости. На самых быстрых и самых низких скоростях ускорение равно радиальному ускорению. При неравномерном круговом движении полное ускорение является суммой радиальных и тангенциальных ускорений.

В неравномерном круговом движении

В однородном круговом движении частица, выполняющая круговое движение, имеет постоянную скорость, а окружность имеет фиксированный радиус. Однако не всё круговые движения происходят с постоянной скоростью. Частица может двигаться по кругу и ускоряться или замедляться, показывая ускорение в направлении движения. В этом случае движение называется неравномерным круговым движением, и вводится дополнительное ускорение, которое направлено касательно к окружности.

Например, такие ускорения возникают на вершине крутящегося волчка, который замедляется после вращения, или на любом ускоряющемся роторе. Мы знаем, что центростремительное ускорение – это скорость изменения направления вектора скорости со временем. Если скорость частицы также меняется, то у неё есть касательное ускорение; это скорость изменения величины скорости со временем. Направление касательного ускорения касается окружности, тогда как центростремительное ускорение направлено радиально внутрь, к центру окружности. Таким образом, частица в круговом движении с касательным ускорением имеет общее ускорение, которое является векторной суммой центростремительного и касательного ускорения.

Circular motion can happen with changing speed. In this case, the object still follows a circular path, but it may speed up or slow down as it moves.

When speed changes during circular motion, the motion is called non-uniform circular motion. This adds tangential acceleration, which points along the path of motion and shows a change in speed.

Centripetal acceleration is still present in circular motion. It describes the time rate of change of the direction of the velocity vector and points radially inward, toward the center of the circle. Tangential acceleration, by contrast, is the time rate of change of the magnitude of the velocity and is tangent to the circle.

The total acceleration in non-uniform circular motion is the vector sum of centripetal and tangential acceleration. A spinning top that slows down after being spun is one example. An accelerating rotor is another example.
