Work Done by Many Forces

Работа выполняется несколькими силами

Общая работа, выполняемая над объектом при действии нескольких сил, может быть рассчитана двумя методами, которые дают одинаковый результат. При первом методе сначала вычисляется работа, совершаемая каждой силой. Затем эти значения алгебраически суммируются для определения общей работы, выполненной всеми силами. Во втором методе первоначально определяется сумма всех сил векторным сложением, после чего определяется работа, совершаемая этой силой.

Так как силы, перпендикулярные перемещению, не выполняют работу, они не вносят вклад в работу, совершаемую над объектом. В расчётах по первому методу они просто игнорируются. Однако во втором методе они должны быть учтены при определении векторной суммы сил, и только после этого их вклад оказывается равным нулю.

Если силы, действующие на центр массы объекта, являются взаимно противоположными, они выполняют разную положительную и отрицательную работу по первому методу. При алгебраическом сложении общая работа, выполненная над объектом, определяется как положительная или отрицательная в зависимости от того, какая из сил обладает большей величиной. Во втором методе сначала определяется сумма сил и определяется, действует эта сила в направлении или противоположно направлению суммарного перемещения. Затем вычисляется работа, которая также определяется как положительная или отрицательная в зависимости от угла между её направлением и перемещением.
