Operational Amplifiers can be connected in a cascade - one after another in linear sequence without altering their input-output relationships due to their infinite input resistance and zero output resistance.
In a cascaded system, each amplifier is known as a stage, and the output of one amplifier drives the following amplifier.
The input signal is successively amplified by the gain of each stage, resulting in an overall larger gain equal to the product of each amplifier&#39;s gain.
The total gain is distributed among multiple stages, with each stage having less gain than if a single op amp was used. Since the gain-bandwith product remains constant for each op amp, this distribution increases the bandwidth for each stage, leading to an overall increase in bandwidth.
In television circuits, tuned RF amplifiers make use of cascaded op amps. They amplify weak signals and improve input and output impedance matching, delivering high-quality audio and video signals.
The cascaded op amp circuit should be designed such that the individual gains do not saturate the signal in the various stages of the cascade.

Cascaded op-amps find extensive use in tuned RF amplifiers found within television circuits. These cascaded amplifiers amplify weak signals and improve impedance matching at the input and output, delivering high-quality audio and video signals to the viewers.
However, designing a cascaded op-amp circuit requires careful consideration. The individual gains must be set such that they do not saturate the signal in the various stages of the cascade. Signal saturation can distort the output, leading to poor performance.

Operational amplifiers can be connected in series as separate stages. This cascade works because op-amps have very high input resistance and very low output resistance. Those properties help each stage keep its input-output relationship while driving the next stage.

In a cascaded op-amp circuit, the output of one stage becomes the input of the next. Each stage adds gain to the signal as it passes through. The overall gain is the product of the gain of each stage.

This design can improve bandwidth because the total gain is shared across several stages. Since the gain-bandwidth product of an op-amp stays constant, a stage with less gain can have more bandwidth. As a result, the full cascaded system can achieve a wider bandwidth than a single high-gain stage.

Cascaded op-amps are used in tuned RF amplifiers, such as those in television circuits. They help amplify weak signals and improve impedance matching at the input and output. This supports better audio and video quality for viewers.

Design still matters when stages are linked this way. The gains must be chosen so the signal does not saturate in any stage. Saturation can distort the output and reduce performance.
