Eğrisel bir hareketteki bir parçacık için hareket denklemi, normal ve teğetsel bileşenler boyunca Newton'un ikinci hareket yasası kullanılarak ifade edilebilir.
Burada, pozitif teğetsel ivme, hızın büyüklüğünde bir artışı temsil eder ve negatif teğetsel ivme, parçacığın hızının büyüklüğünde bir azalmayı temsil eder.

Normal Bileşen, hız vektörünün yörüngesindeki değişiklikleri yansıtarak belirli bir noktada eğrinin radyal yönü ile hizalanır. Bunun tersine, Teğetsel Bileşen bu noktada eğriye teğettir ve yol boyunca hızın değişme hızını belirtir.


 Newton'un ikinci hareket yasası hem normal hem de teğetsel bileşenleri dikkate alarak eğrisel hareket eden bir parçacığın hareket denklemini ifade etmek için kullanılır. Pozitif teğetsel ivme, hızın büyüklüğünde bir artışı belirtirken, negatif teğetsel ivme, parçacığın hızındaki bir azalmayı belirtir.


 Bu bağlamda ivmenin normal bileşeni her zaman eğri yolun yarıçapı ile aynı hizadadır. Eğriliğin merkezine doğru yönlendirildiğinde pozitif kabul edilir. Ayrıca kuvvetin normal bileşeni merkezcil kuvvet olarak tanımlanır ve parçacığın dinamiği ile eğrisel yörüngesi arasında önemli bir bağlantı kurulur. Bu kapsamlı yaklaşım, parçacık hareketinin eğrisel bir çerçeve içerisinde incelikli bir şekilde incelenmesini kolaylaştırır.

Curved motion is described by splitting a particle’s acceleration into tangential and normal parts. These two components help show how the particle moves along a curving path at a specific point.

The tangential component lies along the curve. It shows how the speed changes with time. A positive tangential acceleration means the speed is increasing. A negative tangential acceleration means the speed is decreasing.

The normal component points along the radial direction of the curve. It describes the change in the direction of the velocity vector. This component always follows the radius of the curved path. When it points toward the center of curvature, it is taken as positive.

Newton’s second law is used to write the equation of motion for this kind of motion. The normal force component is called centripetal force. Together, the normal and tangential components give a clear picture of particle motion along a curvilinear path.
