Aaron Kolski-Andreaco, Ph.D.
Editor, Director of Content
Aaron.Kolski-Andreaco@JoVE.com
Aaron Kolski-Andreaco produced his first video protocol in 2005, while visiting the laboratory of Robert H. Chow at the University of Southern California to learn how to isolate and culture adrenal chromaffin cells - a technique instrumental in his doctoral work. Convinced of the power of video for instruction in the sciences, he began contributing content to JoVE for it's second issue and officially joined the journal as an editor in April 2007. Aaron holds a PhD from the University of California, Irvine where he studied the role of potassium channel function in the regulation of the stress response and hypertension under the guidance of K. George Chandy. He has published in JBC, PNAS, Current Biology, and Current Medicinal Chemistry. |

Nandita Singh, Ph.D.
Science Editor
Nandita.Singh@JoVE.com
Dr. Singh holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from University of South Carolina, Columbia and a M.Sc. in Molecular Biology from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. Nandita completed her post-doctoral work at the Whitehead Institute and worked in the Biotech Industry for over two years. She has published in leading journals including Nature, Nature Genetics, Genes and Development and Current Biology. She is convinced that the power of the visual media far exceeds the written word especially when it comes to describing biological methods. In her opinion, video protocols are an invaluable tool to make challenging biological techniques more reproducible and accessible to the entire scientific community.

Mark H. Shalinsky, Ph.D. Science Editor
Mark.Shalinsky@JoVE.com
Mark Shalinsky earned a PhD in neuroscience from the Montreal Neurological Institute at McGill University. He is a technique oriented scientists who has investigated every aspect of cortical networks from in vitro electrophysiology to fMRI brain imaging. Through visiting labs either learning or teaching techniques, Mark understands how JoVE fills a gap present in the scientific publishing world.

Kerianne Crandall, M.A. Director of Library Relations
Kerianne.Crandall@JoVE.com
Kerianne studied chemistry and biochemistry at The College of the Holy Cross conducting research under Dr. Richard Herrick. She then went on to the University of Texas at Austin to complete an M.A. studying pathogenic Burkholderia under Dr. Katy Brown of Imperial College. Kerianne has been published in Chemical Communications, Journal of Organometallic Chemistry and Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Her background in instructing at the high school and college level and frustrations with using poorly written methods papers has lead her to believe that JoVE is the next step in helping scientists to advance their work farther and more efficiently. Kerianne works closely with academics, guiding them through the publication process.

Bjoern Brembs, Ph.D.
Associate Editor
Bjoern.Brembs@JoVE.com
Dr. Brembs earned his PhD in Neurobiology and Genetics at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany. He has always been fascinated with animal behavior and his work on spontaneous behavior and operant learning is published in Science, Journal of Neuroscience and PLoS One. Dr. Brembs joined the JoVE team after creating several video publications about his work. It is his opinion that video protocols not only save time and effort in teaching and research, but also can inspire to try entirely new research avenues.

Phill Jones, Ph.D.
Science Editor - Neuroscience, Editorial Director
Phill.Jones@jove.com
Phill Jones began his scientific career working with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, during which time he obtained a PhD from Imperial College, London in plasma and atomic physics. Shortly after graduating, Phill moved to Massachusetts to begin a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. With an interest in neuroscience and neurodegenerative disease, Phill developed optical imaging techniques for problems as diverse as in vivo imaging of cerebral blood flow and oxygen metabolism in stroke, protein conformation and interaction with time-domain microscopy, and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy. As a classically trained experimentalist, Phill became acutely aware of a need in the biological sciences for a resource to effectively disseminate gold standard experimental techniques and to do so with high visibility, to encourage innovation and technical excellence at the bench.
