Correcting traverse angle errors is an important step in site surveying. In a four-sided traverse, the internal angles must add up to 360 degrees. Survey data first showed a total of 359 degrees and 48 minutes, which was 12 minutes short of the expected sum. That gap pointed to a likely measurement error from fieldwork.

The correction was made by spreading the 12-minute shortfall evenly across the four internal angles. Three minutes were added to each angle, and the values were recalculated. The adjusted angles then summed to 360 degrees, which confirmed that the traverse matched geometric rules. This type of angle adjustment helps survey data stay accurate for plotting and mapping.

After the angles were corrected, the bearings of the traverse sides were found. A magnetic bearing is the direction of a line measured from magnetic north, and the magnetic bearing of side AB was used as the starting reference. Using the corrected internal angles, the bearings of the remaining sides were computed one by one. This kept the angular and linear relationships between all sides aligned and supported a precise survey layout.
