Vr Headset

A VR headset is a wearable device that creates an immersive, three-dimensional digital environment, making it useful for studying how people perceive, learn, interact, and behave. It presents separate images to each eye and updates the visual scene as sensors track head movement, while motion controllers or other inputs allow users to act within the simulated space. In behavioral research, VR enables investigators to manipulate environmental features while recording responses such as movement, attention, decision-making, and social interaction. This controlled yet realistic setting supports experiments on navigation, training, exposure, and human behavior that may be difficult or impractical to examine in the physical world.

A new computational system featuring GPU-accelerated molecular dynamics simulation and 3D/VR visualization, analysis and manipulation of nanostructures has been implemented, representing a novel approach to advance materials research and promote innovative investigation and alternative methods to learn about material structures with dimensions invisible to the human eye.

VR Nature Therapy: Embodiment and Emotional Regulation through Immersive Virtual Environments

2026

Here, we present a protocol to investigate the effects of immersive 360-degree virtual reality nature exposures on mood and embodiment. Participants experience forest and marine environments in seated and standing postures, with assessments using standardized scales to evaluate therapeutic outcomes for mental health interventions.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation, electromyography, and 3D motion capture are commonly used non-invasive techniques for investigating neuromuscular function in humans. In this paper, we describe a protocol that synchronously samples data generated by all three of these tools along with the unique addition of virtual reality stimulus presentation and feedback.

2017

We describe a novel virtual-reality based setup which exploits voluntary control of one hand to improve motor-skill performance in the other (non-trained) hand. This is achieved by providing real-time movement-based sensory feedback as if the non-trained hand is moving. This new approach may be used to enhance rehabilitation of patients with unilateral hemiparesis.
