Writing Score Trajectories

Writing score trajectories are longitudinal patterns showing how an individual’s writing performance changes across repeated assessments, making them useful for studying behavioral development and response to instruction. Researchers construct these trajectories by measuring writing features or rubric-based scores at multiple time points and analyzing the direction, rate, and variability of change. In behavioral research, trajectory analysis can distinguish steady improvement from temporary gains, plateaus, or declining performance while accounting for differences between individuals. These patterns support evaluation of writing interventions, identification of developmental trends, and more precise conclusions about when and how behavior changes over time.

Orthogonal Trajectories

2026

Orthogonal trajectories describe the geometric relationship between two families of curves that intersect each other at right angles. One illustrative case involves a family of parabolas that open sideways along the x-axis. These curves share a common shape but differ by a scaling parameter, resulting in a set of curves that all pass through the origin and widen at different rates.Determining Orthogonal TrajectoriesTo identify the orthogonal trajectories for these parabolas, the first step...

We describe a technique for inscribing identical fiber Bragg gratings into each core of a multicore fiber. This is achieved by introducing an additional surface into the optical path to mitigate lensing by the curved surface of the fiber cladding.
