Iot Interoperability

IoT interoperability is the ability of connected devices, networks, platforms, and applications to exchange data and work together despite differences in manufacturers, communication technologies, and software. It relies on shared protocols, standardized data models, application programming interfaces, and gateways that translate messages or formats between systems, enabling devices to interpret and use exchanged information. In engineering, interoperability supports scalable monitoring, automation, and control across industrial, building, transportation, and healthcare systems. By reducing vendor lock-in and simplifying system integration, it improves maintainability, enables coordinated decision-making, and helps organizations expand connected infrastructures without replacing compatible components.

Investigating the Potential of Singly Curved Thin Piezoelectric Transducers for Energy Harvesting and Structural Health Monitoring

2025

Here, we experimentally compare singly curved and straight piezoelectric transducers embedded in reinforced concrete structures for energy harvesting and structural health monitoring by evaluating their open-circuit voltage, power generation, power storage, and damage detection capability. Curved transducers have surpassed the straight ones, offering better performance for real-world applications.
