Pattern Reconstruction

Pattern reconstruction is the process of recovering an underlying structure, signal, or image from incomplete, distorted, or noisy observations. In engineering, algorithms analyze relationships among measured elements, identify recurring features, and use mathematical models or constraints to estimate missing information while preserving the original pattern’s organization. Techniques such as interpolation, filtering, inverse modeling, and optimization support reconstruction across imaging, communications, sensor systems, and manufacturing. Accurate pattern reconstruction can improve data quality, restore damaged measurements, and enable reliable interpretation when direct observation is limited, making it important for signal processing, computer vision, structural monitoring, and automated quality control.

Cross-Modal Multivariate Pattern Analysis

Classical multivariate pattern analysis predicts sensory stimuli a subject perceives from neural activity in the corresponding cortices (e.g. visual stimuli from activity in visual cortex). Here, we apply pattern analysis cross-modally and show that sound- and touch-implying visual stimuli can be predicted from activity in auditory and somatosensory cortices, respectively.

Patterns of Fever

2024

Before understanding the types and patterns of fever, it is essential to know its phases. • The first stage is the onset/invasion phase, during which the body temperature rises. It might be a sudden or gradual process. • The second stage is the steady phase, during which the body temperature has reached its maximum and remains constant at a high level. • The third stage is the defervescence or decline phase, during which the elevated temperature returns to normal. The fever may subside...
