Plasma Front Location

Plasma front location is the position of the moving boundary between an ionized plasma region and the surrounding neutral or weakly ionized material. This boundary develops and shifts as electric fields accelerate charged particles, collisions produce new electron–ion pairs, and recombination or diffusion reduces the local ionization level. Determining its location helps engineers characterize discharge propagation, assess plasma stability, and relate electrical behavior to spatial structure. Measurements and models of plasma fronts support the design and control of plasma processing systems, discharge devices, flow-control actuators, and other technologies that depend on precise ionization dynamics.

Location and Orientation of the Heart

2024

The human heart, despite its modest size and weight, is an organ of remarkable strength and endurance. Roughly the size of a fist, the heart weighs between 250 and 350 grams and is nestled within the mediastinum, the medial cavity of the thorax. It extends obliquely for about 12 to 14 cm, resting on the superior surface of the diaphragm. The heart is positioned anterior to the vertebral column and posterior to the sternum, with two-thirds of its mass lying to the left of the midsternal line.
