Creditworthiness Assessment

Creditworthiness assessment is the process of evaluating whether an individual or organization can and will repay borrowed funds, helping lenders manage credit risk and make informed financing decisions. It combines information such as income, assets, existing debt, repayment history, credit scores, and debt-to-income ratios, often using statistical models or judgment-based analysis to estimate the likelihood of default under specified loan conditions. The assessment supports decisions about loan approval, interest rates, credit limits, and repayment terms. In finance, it also promotes consistent underwriting, strengthens portfolio risk management, and can improve access to appropriate credit when assessments use reliable, relevant data.
