Living standards describe the material well-being and quality of life experienced by individuals or households, making them a central measure of economic progress beyond total output. In macroeconomics, they are assessed through indicators such as real income per person, consumption, access to healthcare and education, housing, employment, and the distribution of resources, with inflation-adjusted income showing how purchasing power changes over time.
