Standard Of Living

Standard of living describes the material and broader economic well-being people experience, including access to goods and services, housing, health care, education, and security. In macroeconomics, researchers assess it using indicators such as real income or consumption per person, purchasing power, and complementary measures of health and education; rising productivity and employment can increase resources, while inflation and unequal distribution can reduce their benefits. Comparing these measures across countries and over time helps evaluate economic growth, living conditions, and public policy. Standard of living analysis also reveals why higher national output does not always produce better outcomes for every household.
