Corresponding Points

Corresponding points are pairs of points associated with one another through a geometric relationship, transformation, or mapping, allowing figures and mathematical structures to be compared precisely. A rule links each point in one figure to a specific point in another, often by changing its coordinates through translation, rotation, reflection, dilation, or another transformation while preserving selected properties such as distance, angle, or alignment. Identifying corresponding points supports the study of congruent and similar figures, coordinate geometry, graph transformations, and geometric proofs. It also helps determine how shapes change, which features remain invariant, and how mathematical objects relate across different representations.

2019

Freshwater mussel conservation is dependent on monitoring reproductive patterns and processes of species. This study standardizes a non-lethal protocol for sampling gill contents, characterizing larval development, and providing a digital repository for data collected. This protocol-database package will be an important tool for mussel researchers in recovery of imperiled species.

This method is useful for quantifying the early dynamics of cellular adhesion and spreading of anchorage-dependent cells onto the fibronectin. Furthermore, this assay can be used to investigate the effects of altered redox homeostasis on cell spreading and/or cell adhesion-related intracellular signaling pathways.
