Blood Stasis Removal

Blood stasis removal is a traditional Chinese medicine therapeutic approach aimed at addressing patterns described as impaired or obstructed blood movement, which practitioners associate with localized pain, discoloration, or menstrual irregularity. Treatment may use individualized herbal formulations, acupuncture, or related techniques intended to promote circulation, disperse stagnation, and restore functional balance according to the patient’s pattern diagnosis. In medicine, the concept is relevant to the study of traditional diagnostic systems, integrative care, and research evaluating how these interventions affect symptoms and quality of life. It should not be confused with emergency treatment for a medically diagnosed blood clot or other acute circulatory disorder.

Source: Dr. Melanie Pribisko Yen and Grace Tang — California Institute of Technology Rotary evaporation is a technique most commonly used in organic chemistry to remove a solvent from a higher-boiling point compound of interest. The rotary evaporator, or "rotovap", was invented in 1950 by the chemist Lyman C. Craig. The primary use of a rotovap is to dry and purify samples for downstream applications. Its speed and ability to handle large volumes of solvent make rotary evaporation a preferred...
