Hysteroscopic Polypectomy

Hysteroscopic polypectomy is a minimally invasive procedure that removes endometrial polyps, localized overgrowths of the uterine lining that may cause abnormal bleeding, infertility, or recurrent pregnancy loss. During hysteroscopy, a slender camera passes through the vagina and cervix into the uterus, allowing the clinician to visualize the uterine cavity and excise polyps with specialized instruments, often while preserving surrounding endometrium. The technique supports direct diagnosis and treatment in a single procedure, provides tissue for histopathological evaluation, and can help restore a more normal uterine cavity. In medicine, it is an important approach to managing symptomatic or clinically significant intrauterine lesions.
