Mandibular Third Molars

Mandibular third molars are the lower jaw’s wisdom teeth, the last permanent teeth to develop and erupt, and they matter because their position can affect oral health, adjacent teeth, and treatment planning. They form at the back of the mandible and may erupt normally or become impacted when limited space, unfavorable angulation, or obstruction prevents adequate emergence through the gum. Clinical assessment typically combines examination with dental imaging to evaluate eruption status, root anatomy, surrounding bone, and proximity to important structures. This information guides monitoring, preventive care, or surgical extraction while helping manage pain, infection, decay, periodontal disease, and potential damage to neighboring molars.

Molar Mass

The identity of a substance is defined not only by the types of atoms or ions it contains but by the quantity of each type of atom or ion. For example, water, H2O, and hydrogen peroxide, H2O2, are alike in that their respective molecules are composed of hydrogen and oxygen atoms. However, because a hydrogen peroxide molecule contains two oxygen atoms, as opposed to the water molecule, which has only one, the two substances exhibit very different properties. Atoms and molecules are extremely...

Lateral Molar Approach-Driven Transoral Endoscopic Procedure for Benign Infratemporal Fossa Tumor Resection

Here, we present a protocol to resect benign infratemporal fossa tumors via an endoscopic-assisted transoral lateral molar approach with low-temperature plasma ablation and intraoperative mandibular nerve monitoring. This minimally invasive technique prioritizes anatomical preservation, functional recovery, and avoidance of external scarring, demonstrating feasibility for well-demarcated lesions ≤4 cm in diameter.

Determination of Molar Masses of Polymers II

2026

Polymer samples typically consist of macromolecular chains with a distribution of lengths, resulting in a range of molar masses rather than a single discrete value. Conventional descriptors such as the number-average molar mass and weight-average molar mass quantify this distribution but do not fully capture polymer behavior in solution..The viscosity-average molar mass provides a more realistic description of polymer behavior in solution because it accounts for the enhanced contribution of...
