Response Surface Method

Response Surface Method is a statistical and experimental-design approach used to model how multiple input factors jointly influence a measured outcome and to identify favorable operating conditions. It typically combines planned experiments with regression models, often polynomial equations, to estimate the response surface, evaluate interactions between variables, and locate or confirm an optimum. In medicine, this method can optimize drug formulations, analytical procedures, treatment conditions, and biological processes while reducing the number of experiments required. By quantifying factor effects and trade-offs, Response Surface Method supports evidence-based process development, improves reproducibility, and helps researchers balance efficacy, safety, quality, and practical constraints.

Response Surface Methodology (RSM) is a collection of statistical and mathematical techniques used to develop, improve, and optimize processes. It is particularly valuable when many input variables or factors potentially influence a response variable. The process of RSM involves several key steps: Conducting Experiments: The first step is to conduct experiments by systematically varying the input variables. This is typically done using a specific experimental design, such as a factorial...

We present a method to control the interfacial energy of a liquid metal in an electrolyte via electrochemical deposition (or removal) of a surface oxide layer. This simple method can control the capillary behavior of gallium-based liquid metals by tuning the interfacial energy rapidly, significantly, and reversibly using modest voltages.

A Method to Induce Ocular Surface Inflammation in a Murine Model

This video demonstrates a method to induce ocular surface inflammation and meibomian gland dysfunction in a murine model. Stimulation of the mouse's immune system using an immunogen and later restimulation with the same immunogen promotes ocular surface inflammation, which causes plugging of meibomian gland secretion through neutrophil-produced aggNETs and leads to dry eye disease.
