Academic Accommodations

Academic accommodations are individualized changes to a learning environment, course requirements, or assessment procedures that reduce disability-related barriers while preserving essential learning objectives. In psychology education, accommodations work by matching a student’s documented functional needs with supports such as extended testing time, accessible materials, reduced-distraction settings, note-taking assistance, or alternative ways to demonstrate knowledge. Their implementation typically involves evaluating how a condition affects attention, processing, communication, mobility, or participation and then coordinating appropriate adjustments with instructors and support services. Effective accommodations promote equitable access, support academic performance and well-being, and provide a practical framework for studying inclusion, disability, learning, and educational outcomes.

The low-energy water-accommodated fraction (LEWAF) of crude oil is a challenging system to analyze, because over time, this complex mixture undergoes chemical transformations. This protocol illustrates methods for the preparation of the LEWAF sample and for performing photo-irradiation and chemical analysis by trapped ion mobility spectrometry–FT-ICR MS.

VisualEyes2020 (VE2020) is a custom scripting language that presents, records, and synchronizes visual eye movement stimuli. VE2020 provides stimuli for conjugate eye movements (saccades and smooth pursuit), disconjugate eye movements (vergence), accommodation, and combinations of each. Two analysis programs unify the data processing from the eye tracking and accommodation recording systems.

The rapid expansion of online information has increased access to knowledge while also increasing the risk of misinformation. Sources that appear authoritative may lack scholarly rigor, which makes credibility assessment a critical part of research literacy. Evaluating the reliability of information helps prevent the inclusion of weak, biased, or misleading material in academic work. Publication Source and Authorship A primary consideration is the publication source. Scholarly journals and...
