Whole-Mount Dissection of the Vestibular Complex and Quantification of Vestibular Ganglion Neurons in Mice

We present a new dissection method to extract the vestibular ganglion and all five vestibular organs (utricle, saccule, and three cristae: lateral/horizontal, anterior, and posterior) as one whole-mount vestibular complex. Confocal imaging allows visualization of vestibular neuron cell bodies for quantification, as well as neuronal projections to the sensory epithelia.
