The C-seal is a new product for prevention of anastomotic leakage following colorectal anastomosis. Anastomotic leakage is a much-feared complication of colorectal surgery, with an incidence of around 11%. The C-seal is a biodegradable sheath that is attached to the inner surface of the bowel, just above the colorectal anastomosis, with a circular stapler. Intestinal contents drain from the body via the C-seal. The C-seal can be used in stapled anastomoses at up to 15 cm from the anus and is compatible with all circular staplers. To date, 50 patients have been treated with a C-seal. Results are encouraging and therefore the C-seal is soon to be investigated under randomized study conditions.

Anastomotic Leckage ist eine viel gef&uuml;rchteten Komplikation der kolorektalen Chirurgie, mit einer Inzidenz von rund 11 %. Die C-Dichtung ist eine biologisch abbaubare Scheide, die die innere Oberfl&auml;che des Darms, oberhalb der Dick-Anastomose mit einer kreisf&ouml;rmigen Hefter befestigt ist. Darminhalt ablassen aus dem K&ouml;rper &uuml;ber das C-Siegel. Das C-Siegel in geheftet Anastomoses bei bis zu 15 cm aus dem Anus einsetzbar und ist kompatibel mit allen kreisf&ouml;rmigen Hefter. Bis heute wurden 50 Patienten mit einer C-Versiegelung behandelt. Ergebnisse sind ermutigend, und daher das C-Siegel wird bald unter Bedingungen der randomisierten Studie untersucht werden.

Perdite anastomotiche sono una complicanza molto temuto di Chirurgia colorettale, con un&#39;incidenza dell&#39;11% circa. Il C-sigillo &egrave; una guaina biodegradabile che &egrave; attaccata alla superficie interna dell&#39;intestino, appena sopra l&#39;anastomosi del colon-retto, con una suturatrice circolare. Contenuto intestinale di scarico dal corpo attraverso la guarnizione a C. La guarnizione a C pu&ograve; essere utilizzata in anastomosi spillati a fino a 15 cm dall&#39;ano ed &egrave; compatibile con tutte le pinzatrici circolare. Ad oggi, 50 pazienti sono stati trattati con un C-seal. I risultati sono incoraggianti e quindi la guarnizione a C &egrave; presto per essere studiati in condizioni di studio randomizzato.

Dehiscencia de la anastomosis es una complicaci&#xF3;n temida de la cirug&#xED;a colorrectal, con una incidencia de alrededor del 11%. El C-sello es una vaina biodegradable que se adjunta a la superficie interior del intestino, justo por encima de la anastomosis colorrectal, con una grapadora circular. Los contenidos intestinales se escurra fuera del cuerpo a trav&#xE9;s de la C-seal. El C-sello puede ser utilizado en anastomosis grapados de hasta 15 cm desde el ano y es compatible con todas las grapadoras circulares. Hasta la fecha, 50 pacientes han sido tratados con un C-sello. Los resultados son alentadores y por lo tanto, la C-sello es pronto para ser investigados en condiciones de estudio con asignaci&#xF3;n al azar.

Colorectal anastomotic leakage is a serious complication of colorectal surgery, leading to high morbidity and mortality rates. In recent decades, many strategies aimed at lowering the incidence of anastomotic leakage have been examined. The focus of this review will be on mechanical aids protecting the colonic anastomosis against leakage. A literature search was performed using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and The Cochrane Collaborative library for all papers related to prevention of anastomotic leakage by placement of a device in the colon. Devices were categorised as decompression devices, intracolonic devices, and biodegradable devices. A decompression device functions by keeping the anal sphincter open, thereby lowering the intraluminal pressure and lowering the pressure on the anastomosis. Intracolonic devices do not prevent the formation of dehiscence. However, they prevent the faecal load from contacting the anastomotic site, thereby preventing leakage of faeces into the peritoneal cavity. Many attempts have been made to find a device that decreases the incidence of AL; however, to date, none of the devices have been widely accepted.

Can intraluminal devices prevent or reduce colorectal anastomotic leakage: a review.

Dehiscencia de la anastomosis colorrectal es una complicaci&#xF3;n grave de la cirug&#xED;a colorrectal, lo que lleva a una elevada morbilidad y mortalidad. En las &#xFA;ltimas d&#xE9;cadas, muchas de las estrategias encaminadas a reducir la incidencia de dehiscencia de la anastomosis se han examinado. El objetivo de esta revisi&#xF3;n ser&#xE1; de ayudas mec&#xE1;nicas que protegen la anastomosis para evitar filtraciones. Una b&#xFA;squeda bibliogr&#xE1;fica en MEDLINE, EMBASE y The Cochrane Library colaboraci&#xF3;n de todos los papeles relacionados con la prevenci&#xF3;n de fuga de la anastomosis mediante la colocaci&#xF3;n de un dispositivo en el colon. Dispositivos se clasificaron como dispositivos de descompresi&#xF3;n, dispositivos intracol&#xF3;nicas y dispositivos biodegradables. A las funciones del dispositivo de descompresi&#xF3;n de mantener el esf&#xED;nter anal abierta, lo que reduce la presi&#xF3;n intraluminal y reduciendo la presi&#xF3;n sobre la anastomosis. Intracol&#xF3;nicas dispositivos no impiden la formaci&#xF3;n de la dehiscencia. Sin embargo, evitar que la carga fecal de contacto con el lugar de la anastomosis, evitando as&#xED; la fuga de las heces en la cavidad peritoneal. Muchos intentos se han hecho para encontrar un dispositivo que disminuye la incidencia de AL, sin embargo, hasta la fecha, ninguno de los dispositivos han sido ampliamente aceptados.
