Biography

Dr. Bayu Brahma received his medical degree from Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia in 2001 and subsequently, he enrolled training in general surgery and consultant of surgical oncology at Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia. In 2013, a fellowship program to study surgical oncology at National Cancer Center Singapore was offered to him and because of his interest in reconstructive microsurgery, he also accomplished The Diploma of Breast Reconstructive Microsurgery from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona

in 2015 and clinical immersion in general microsurgery at The Departement of Plastic Surgery, Hospital de la Creu I Sant Pau, Barcelona. Lymphedema surgical treatment has also become his field of interest and he joined a fellowship in Advanced Clinical Training Program for lymphatic supermicrosurgery reconstruction at Department of

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, National Center for Global Health and Medicine Hospital, Tokyo in 2018.

He has published several studies in breast cancer sentinel node biopsy, lymphedema surgery, and thyroid cancer. He is currently working as a consultant of surgical oncology at Dharmais Cancer Hospital and the Editor-in-Chief of Indonesian Journal of Cancer.
