Xiubo Zhao is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield. He obtained his PhD in 2007 from the University of Manchester with a thesis on biocompatible polymers for gene delivery. He was a post-doctoral research fellow for 5 years at the University of Manchester working on peptide self-assembly, biointerfaces and biosensors. In 2012, He joined the University of Sheffield as a Lecturer. Xiubo's research interests range from bioprinting, biomaterials, nanomedicine, biosensors, biocolloids and biointerfaces. His recent work of biocompatible silk micro-rockets has received lots of media attentions (e.g. sciencedaily.com, sciencenewsjournal.com, phys.org).
