Biography
Xin Wang is a chief physician, professor and postgraduate supervisor, working as the deputy director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Committee of Fuwai Hospital, the director of Beijing Key Laboratory of Pre-clinical Research and Evaluation for Cardiovascular Implant Materials, and the director of the Animal Experiment Center. After graduating from the Department of Medicine of Beijing Medical University in 1994, he joined Fuwai Hospital, engaging in the clinical and research tasks of cardiovascular surgeries. In 2001, Xin Wang went to the Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Department of Tampere University Hospital，Finland to further study CABG and cardiac valvular surgery under the supervision of Dr. Matti R. Tarkka, chairman of the Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Association, Finland. Xin Wang was trained systematically as a cardiovascular surgeon. After finishing studies in Finland, He went back to China and served as the competent physician of the surgical ward. In 2005, Xin Wang was promoted as the associate chief physician in the Cardiac Surgery Department; in 2016, he received the doctoral degree from the Tampere University Hospital; in 2010, he was engaged as the technical guide by the Center of Cardiac Surgery for Adults and as the postgraduate supervisor by the Graduate School of Peking Union Medical College.
He has acquired rich clinical experience after being engaged in over 3,000 cardiac surgeries for 19 years and led over 2000 of them. The surgeries deal with such diseases as coronary heart diseases, valvular heart diseases, congenital heart diseases, cardiac tumors and large vascular diseases, with a mortality rate smaller than 1%.
