Biography

Tomohisa Takaya is a Lecturer in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Toyama Prefectural University in Imizu, Toyama, Japan. He received a Ph.D. degree in Science from The University of Tokyo.

Dr. Takaya studied the mechanism of the initial charge separation in biochemical systems using ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy as a postdoctoral researcher in Terry L. Gustafson’s lab and Bern Kohler’s lab at Department of Chemistry, The Ohio State University, from 2005 to 2007. He moved to Hiro-o Hamaguchi’s lab at Department of Chemistry, School of Science, The University of Tokyo, as Assistant Professor (2007-2010) and then moved to Koichi Iwata’s lab at Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Gakushuin University (2010-2019). At Gakushuin University, he developed a new ultrafast time-resolved spectrometer using stimulated Raman scattering in the near-IR region for analyzing structures, dynamics and functions of π-conjugated systems.

Dr. Takaya moved to Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Toyama Prefectural University, as Lecturer in 2019. His research interests focus on development of a new technique of near-IR spectroscopy for non-invasive analyses of the quality of natural and industrial products.
