Postdoctoral studies at Yale University, Biology Department (1987-1988) and at National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Malaria Section (1988-1990). Visiting scientist at the NIAID, Laboratory of Immunoregulation (1990-1996). Executive MBA in Management of Technology (MoT), under the joined sponsorship of EPFL and HEC – Unil, in Lausanne (2007). Speaks fluent Italian, English and French, has good knowledge of Spanish, has just acquired level HSKII of Mandarin Chinese, and has a basic grasp of German.
